Henderson uses single-stream recycling through Republic Services - all recyclable materials go together in one blue cart with a green lid. No sorting required. Items must be empty, clean, and dry before placing in the recycling cart. Rinse containers to remove food residue. Do NOT bag recyclables - place items loosely in the cart. Cardboard boxes should be flattened to save space. Recycling carts must be placed at curbside by 5:00 AM on your collection day. Cart lids must be able to close - do not overfill. Place carts at least 4 feet apart from trash carts and other obstacles. Republic Services provides wheeled carts in three sizes (35, 65, or 95 gallons). The 95-gallon cart is the most common residential size. Contact Republic Services at 702-735-5151 to request a different cart size or to report damaged/missing carts. Extra recycling that does not fit in your cart can be placed next to the cart in cardboard boxes or paper bags. Republic Services processes all recyclables at their state-of-the-art Material Recovery Facility (MRF) in Southern Nevada.

Holiday Schedule

Republic Services observes major federal holidays with adjusted collection schedules in Henderson. When a holiday falls on a weekday, trash, recycling, and yard waste collection is typically delayed by one day for the remainder of the week. Holidays observed include: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day (July 4th), Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. If your regular collection day falls on or after a holiday, your pickup will be delayed by one day. For example, if the holiday is on Monday, Monday customers are serviced on Tuesday, Tuesday customers on Wednesday, and so on through the week. Friday customers affected by Monday holidays are typically serviced on Saturday. Republic Services notifies residents of holiday schedule changes via mail, website updates, and automated phone messages. For the most current holiday schedule and to confirm your specific collection day during holiday weeks, visit info.republicservices.com/holiday-schedule and enter your service address, or call Republic Services customer service at 702-735-5151.

Important Information

Republic Services of Southern Nevada provides comprehensive waste collection services to the City of Henderson under a franchise agreement. The company serves over 320,000 Henderson residents across all neighborhoods including Green Valley, Anthem, Lake Las Vegas, Cadence, Inspirada, MacDonald Ranch, and historic Henderson. Henderson uses a zone-based collection system with trash collected Monday through Friday depending on your zone. Collection begins as early as 5:00 AM, so all carts must be placed at the curb by that time. Carts should be placed at least 4 feet apart from each other and away from obstacles like cars, mailboxes, and utility poles. Maximum cart capacity should not exceed the weight limit (typically 200-250 lbs per cart). Wheels should face the house, handles toward the street. Residents can use the Republic Services address lookup tool at republicservices.com/schedule to verify their specific collection day. Only items inside the provided carts will be collected during regular weekly service - additional bags or boxes left outside carts will not be picked up except during designated bi-weekly bulk collection. Report missed pickups within 24 hours by calling 702-735-5151. Solid waste collection is mandatory in Henderson for any premises connected to water service per Henderson Municipal Code 5.17.220. Republic Services operates the 560 Cape Horn Drive transfer station in Henderson for drop-off services and a state-of-the-art Material Recovery Facility (MRF) to process recyclables. The Henderson transfer station is open 7 days a week from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM for general drop-off.
