Atlanta residents receive 12 FREE scheduled bulk pickups per year. Schedule at least one business day in advance via ATL311 online portal, mobile app, or by calling 311. If 12 collections are exceeded, resident is charged $343.10 per additional pickup. Items must be placed curbside by 7:00 AM on scheduled day. Do not block sidewalks or streets.

Recycled materials should be LOOSELY PLACED in blue carts - do NOT bag recyclables. Plastic bags damage machinery at recycling facilities. All containers that previously held food, detergent, or liquids should be rinsed and wiped/air dried before placing in the blue cart. Place blue cart curbside no later than 7:00 AM on collection day. Remove cart by 9:00 AM the day after collection. Glass bottle lids should be removed and placed separately in the recycling cart. Holiday Schedule

City of Atlanta solid waste collection is delayed by ONE DAY when holidays fall on regular collection days. The following holidays are observed with collection delays: Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January), Memorial Day (May), Independence Day (July 4th), Labor Day (September), Thanksgiving Day (November), and Christmas Day (December). When a holiday falls on Monday, Monday collections move to Tuesday, Tuesday to Wednesday, and so on through Friday. Regular schedules resume the following week. Contact ATL311 or download the Atlanta Solid Waste Services mobile app for specific holiday schedule announcements. No collection occurs on the actual holiday.
